The race, contested over 45 laps, was the tenth round of the 1993 Formula One season and was won by Alain Prost, driving a Williams-Renault, after team-mate Damon Hill was denied a first win by a tyre problem on the penultimate lap. This was Prost's 51st and final Grand Prix victory.
