about Red Bull

Red Bull Racing is a Formula One racing team, racing under an Austrian licence, based in the United Kingdom. It is one of two Formula One teams owned by beverage company Red Bull GmbH, the other being Scuderia Toro Rosso. The team won four successive Constructors' Championship titles, in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013, becoming the first Austrian licensed team to win the title. The team also produced the quadruple world champion driver of 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013, Sebastian Vettel. Managed by Christian Horner, the team has used Renault engines since 2007. Red Bull Racing then used TAG Heuer-branded Renault engines starting from the 2016 season.

Red Bull news

Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko recently declared he was so confident in the team's new engine supplier that he saw no reason why Verstappen could not become F1's youngest ever world champion as soon as next year. That was despite Honda having so far failed to reach the podium with McLaren or Toro Rosso during the first four years of its F1 return. But Verstappen is adamant Red Bull ...

With F1’s turbo hybrid rules having imposed strict limits on fuel flow and quantity since 2014, engine manufacturers realised that one way to boost power was to use oil in the combustion chamber. The FIA was on to the matter quickly though and a raft of rule changes – including limits to the amount of oil that can be burned, plus auxiliary tank restrictions – have been designed to ...

And ahead of a crunch winter where Honda needs to finalise its 2019 specification, fuel partner ExxonMobil has revealed that it is much further ahead with its planning than it was at this stage last year. With the current turbo hybrid formula putting the onus on ...

Marko sees the team’s form in Mexico, where the altitude put Renault on a par with rivals Mercedes and Ferrari, as a sign of how strong the RB14 chassis is. He’s confident that the Honda power unit, which Red Bull believes is already ahead of Renault, will make the difference next season. Sebastian Vettel currently holds the title of youngest world champion, having secured his first ...

The W Series, announced last month, has been created to promote female talent with a funded six-round series and a $1.5 million prize pool. De Silvestro agrees with some of the criticism that's been directed at W ...

Although Red Bull has been fastest all weekend, and has secured its first front row lock-out of the turbo hybrid era, it is aware that its power deficit could leave it exposed on the blast away from the grid. That is why Horner thinks it may make sense for his drivers to work together to hold back Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel who are starting right behind them. Speaking to Sky about ...

Red Bull has been the class of the field in Mexico this weekend, topping every session and locking out the front row of the grid as Daniel Ricciardo edged out Max Verstappen. But with the Milton Keynes-based team having endured a run of race ending failures this season – and Verstappen being stopped by an hydraulics issue on Friday – Vettel thinks that the result is far from certain. "We ...

Though Red Bull filled the Mexico City front row with Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen, the substantial advantage it held in Friday practice was reduced on Saturday - with third-placed Hamilton within 0.135 seconds of the top spot and Sebastian Vettel's Ferrari a further 0.076s back. But Hamilton insisted the Austrian team's cars had still been out of reach in the pole ...

Verstappen and teammate Daniel Ricciardo were in a class of their own around the Mexico City circuit on Friday, finishing 1-2 in both sessions, with the high altitude helping the team's performance against Ferrari and Mercedes. Kvyat has been recalled to replace the Red Bull Racing-bound Pierre Gasly at Toro Rosso for the next year, but the team is yet to confirm who will take the second seat.
